An incredible 21,050 doses of Astra-Zeneca vaccines were administered in two phases at the Metallics Plant located in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. What started out as an idea to support employee vaccinations expanded to successfully vaccinating six neighboring communities and the employees of 500 surrounding companies. This center has taken weeks of planning, preparation, countless days of cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting the locker room area, the operator truck entrance, and classrooms of the San Luis Potosi Structures manufacturing facility. There was tremendous support of more than 250 volunteers and the plant was recently recognized as “the best vaccination center of an organization and dignified treatment.” A number of people visited the center to get vaccinated and it could not have been possible without the team in Mexico to support their country during these unprecedented times. “I am deeply appreciative of all the hard work, time and effort our plants have shown to support not only our employees, but also their communities during these times,” said Matija Mlinaric, Global Director, Human Resources – Metallics Business Unit.
