In August, four Atlas Fluid Systems employees took time out of their schedules to support life-saving research by climbing on a 30-person “Big Bike” and pedaling to raise awareness and funds for the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada. An additional four employees donated to the cause.
The funds raised will help close the research gap related to heart disease and strokes, which remain the leading cause of premature death for women in Canada. Currently, two thirds of heart disease clinical research focuses on men.
“Riding the Big Bike was a fun experience,” says Mary Ann Prillo, Quality Document Control/Supplier Development. “I plan to do it again next year.”
