Martinrea’s vision of making people’s lives better was demonstrated in October and December of 2019, when Alfield Industries participated in two refugee hiring events in the Greater Toronto Area.
The hiring events were organized by the Refugee Jobs Agenda Roundtable and co-sponsored by the Tent Partnership for Refugees, Starbucks Coffee Canada, several local immigrant settlement organizations, and the City of Toronto.
As a follow-up from the two events, Martinrea was invited to attend a luncheon meeting on March 4, hosted by Senator Ratna Omidvar, Tent, and Starbucks, exploring ways of continuing the success of refugee hiring in the rest of Canada.
At the meeting, Martinrea was recognized as a leading company in hiring for diversity and having practical onboarding solutions that others took interest in following.
